Tom D.Loved the fishing right from the dock; not big ones, but plenty of them. Great area for walking the dogs. Saw bald eagles, loons, turkeys, deer. Ed has a book with lots of information about the cottage and the area. Closest store was 9 miles away, but the Flea Market was about 2 miles away and that was neat to see. Took a lot of long walks around the area and it's beautiful. Heard turkeys and loons and a bald eagle grabbed a fish right out in front of the cottage. HIGHLY recommend Karen's Cottage.
Patricia DThis is a beautiful cottage! It is clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans. Every room has an air conditioner. The bed in the master was very comfortable and had a beautiful view of the lake. The grounds were spacious, with a nice deck and a nice little beach. We brought our two dogs and they loved it. We used the kayaks and the grill, both were in excellent condition. There were about 100 movies to choose from and the Dish Network worked well. Very clean lake, small enough but super quiet during the week. All of the neighbors we met were very nice. Ed was awesome to deal with! He was so friendly and extremely helpful, we received our deposit check within three days of our departure.
Rob M.Amazing! We spent 2 weeks here this summer and it was wonderful. Felt like we were being hosted at a relatives house, not just renting a property. Grounds were well kept, spacious and house was more than amply stocked with every essential for cooking away from home. House had some very nice updates, large living areas and super clean. Nice outdoor area, firepit and kayaks were a nice plus. Would definitely go again. Hosts had a nice information binder available. Try for the local bakery in downtown Coral ("Saltbox" I think) - good goodies.
Tom & WandaWe spent a week at Karen's cottage last summer. I can't say I've ever had a more peaceful and relaxing vacation. The cottage is a perfect little home. Bright, spacious and well kept. The private beach is right out the front door. The owners were kind enough to supply kayaks for our paddling pleasure. The fishing was great! My 12 yr old daughter caught over 30 blue gill with a bucket, a plate and a bit of luncheon meat (and I told her it couldn't be done). The fish are brave enough to take food right from your fingers. (That's what I call a good time). I saw my first bald eagle circling the lake, looking for fish I suppose. We actually left the property and drove into town for a flea market on Thursday. I was so relaxed that I had no idea where I had left my shoes (I had taken them off Saturday - the day we arrived). The hosts supplied movies, board games and a lovely gift basket on our arrival. I would recommend this beautiful retreat to anyone.
Betsy GarzaThis will be our 3rd year at Karen's Cottage. We love it! Very Clean and comfortable very pleasant area. Thanks to Karen and Ed for sharing their beautiful cottage!
