Thank You Jim & Sue for this wonderful log cabin! It was a great way to celebrate our 41st Wedding Anniversary! The cabin was everything we had hoped for, beautiful views of the river, the quiet and we had such good weather! Camp fires at night(smores), playing board games and movies. We brought all our food so wouldn't have to leave the cabin and slept so sound. Hope to return during other seasons to enjoy. It's truly a treasure!

We spent a very relaxing week in this quiet, secluded log cabin overlooking the spring-fed White river. We saw deer in the yard and a beaver in the river, but no neighbors in sight. The cabin was clean and comfortable with all the amenities needed. Our wonderful hosts were available by phone just a mile away, but we had no need to call. We look forward to staying again.

Wow! What a blessing this little piece of paradise is. My fiancé' and myself decided to take off up north last minute for a 4th of July vacation and we where so lucky to come across this cabin. Hands down our best vacation yet. We cannot wait to come back for another visit. The location was perfect and breath taking to say the least. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable. We took advantage of the river located in the back yard and played like little kids to cool off throughout the hot days! The wild life was abundant and not to mention the stars at night and dancing fire flies placed us closer to heaven! We loved exploring the woods and trails too. Having breakfast on the back porch and dinners at the picnic table as the sun set behind the trees was perfect! We both mentioned how we hope the cabin is still available once we start a family so we can bring our little ones here to experience the fairytale we did. 5 Stars all around Susan was wonderful and met us late in the afternoon with the keys - couldn't of asked for a better trip.

I stayed here with 2 of my friends this past March (I believe) and it was a wonderful surprise. The pictures don't even show how beautiful this place really is! The cabin is located off of a dirt road which can be pretty scary at first, but when you do realize where the cabin is you won't believe it. Sue was so nice and greeted us as soon as we got there. We were even pretty late and she didn't mind at all. She had a warm fire already started in the living room which made you feel right at home. The cabin is spacious and very clean. There is a flat screen TV with movies already there to enjoy. The sun room in the back of the cabin is one of my favorite parts. Sue's husband came the next day to make sure we had enough firewood and charcoal for the grill which was super nice and considerate. We enjoyed fires every night and even cooked our meal over the fire which ended up perfect. The river in the back of the cabin is the most beautiful part. Sitting by the fire listening to the water is very relaxing. The most exciting part was that we were able to hear and see an owl one night by the fire which was something I definitely did not expect. I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a nice getaway from the city. It's a short drive and it's much more than expected. I can't wait to be back! - Nicole Matthews

Another wonderful weekend at this secluded and very private log cabin. We love to stay here whenever we get a chance. The beauty and serenity on the river front here is just breathtaking. We love the rustic atmosphere of the cabin as Sue and Jim always keep it clean and well kept. Jim even sprayed to kill the mosquitoes before our stay to make our stay even more enjoyable. Sue is always so nice and hospitable on our welcome and only a cell call away if we need anything. We brought food in for our stay so we did not even have to leave the cabin the whole 4 days we were there. Such a blessing to have this place to retreat to when we can. Thank you Sue and Jim.

My husband and I just spent the weekend at this cabin and had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful, peaceful and private place to stay. We were able to do some hiking and canoeing during our visit, which were just minutes away from the cabin. Sue was very helpful from the first time I emailed her to meeting us at the cabin when we arrived. The cabin was clean and it felt like our own little home away from home. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone that is looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway. Thanks so much for sharing your cabin with us.

We just spent a very relaxing anniversary weekend at the cottage. It was such a nice place to stay at. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the place and just how cozy it was. We were welcomed by the owner Sue who was such a nice lady. She made us feel right at home. One of the main things I wanted when I looked for a place to stay was a a cabin in the woods without other people around. I wanted to make sure they had a fireplace with lots of wood and Sue assured me there would be and there was!! She made sure the bird feeders were full so we could enjoy watching all the birds. We weren't lucky enough to see any deer or turkey's like other guest but hopefully next time we will. We will definitely be returning sometime soon!!

What a wonderful property! Very clean, very comfortable, and very beautiful cabin. The cabin itself had everything that we needed to have a good time as well. Scenery around the cabin was tremendous, in the woods, right on the river, and lots of land to explore. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

1/11/2013… Only three words need to describe this cabin in the woods; breathtaking, tranquil and saddening. We got here that evening, drove down the dirt road, engulfed with fog, only to find this charming little log cabin straight out of a Charles Dickens novel. We woke the first morning only to be surprise by deer feeding, a group of turkeys gathered around the numerous bird feeders trying to steal food away from the numerous types of birds, and black and brown plump squirrels. We looked onto the mesmerizing yet tranquil stream as it meandered down the banks behind the cabin through the beautiful landscape. We sat by the serene wood burning fireplace and watched the ambers glow from red to orange as we read books and drank a warm cup of coffee. The last morning we were woke to the smell of coffee brewing and two baby deer, one a doe and the other a buck, grazing outside the window. The last hour that we had here was the only sad parts of the trip, because we had to leave for one, and the other was that we just found this place where time stands still. Thank you so much, Greg and Becky

Dear Jim and Sue, Back to work tomorrow and NO stress. We're ready thanks to our stay at your lovely cabin. What a great week we had! Went tubing, antiqueing, hiking, and loads of other things, yet the time didn't pass so quickly. The cabin is fantastic, right down to the bird guide in the desk from 1931. Loved the old furniture and all the special touches you added.(The smores were sticky and yummy) Thank you both for a great getaway and would recommend to friends. Love, John and Linda

Me and my husband and 6 year old daughter just went here for memorial( 2010 )day weekend and had the best time! the cabin was very clean and had alot more provided then we thought..i over packed i guess !! lol.. We loved the fact it was right in the woods and it was a very relxing place to stay right by the river.. the rivers down a steep hill and im pregnant so i couldnt go trout fishing but my husband found the best way was to leave pole by river over night hooked on tree and we caught a few that way :) nights were great we used the fire pit and free wood ! also the grill and chorcol /fluid was there aswell. thisn is the ideal place to go if you want to rellax and enjoy nature in peace.. theres alot of nature trails and lakes ,ponds, rivers near by too.! we would love to come here agagin!

What an awesome 4 days we had on our 28th Anniversary!! We were very impressed with the cabin. The pictures don't do this justice, nor does the views we had of the beautiful lake. We were woke up two mornings in a row by about 50 wild turkey that came on the property. Many birds, squirrels of many colors and types, turkey, and even a buck!! We had a coyote that my husband was calling to the last night we were there. Had a wonderful, peaceful time, and didn't want to leave!! WE WILL BE BACK!! Thanks to Jim and Sue for keeping this Haven open to those of us that need a little relaxation!!

What a great retreat! I was tempted to write a bad review so we could keep this cabin to ourselves :) but I can't do that. It was such a simple and relaxing mini-vacation in the woods. I plan to go back SEVERAL times!

We've been searching for that "great get-a-way cabin" for months. This far exceeded our expectations in both atmosphere and seclusion. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating and added a couple of very nice extras. We're looking forward to coming back year after year.

This is an amazing cabin; rustic yet homey, great furnishings and well maintained. Gave the perfect atmosphere to reconnect and enjoy nature. The ammenities were wonderful including the wildlife that visited the yard. I would definately rent this cabin again.

  24. 09/29/2008

9/29/08 We had a great weekend in this cabin; quiet comfortable, nicely furnished and well kept. This is the second time we've been here. The back porch has a great view looking down on the White River, perfect place to sit waiting for and evening hatch. Make sure you bring your waders there are some nice holes both up and down steam on the river. If the weather would have been a tad cooler we would have started up the fire place.
