Located in a castle-like Romanesque building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the three floors of the museum are filled with paintings, photographs, maps, written documents, furniture, dolls, glassware, tools, vehicles and more! The Southern Michigan Railroad
The Southern Michigan Railroad Society, Inc. is dedicated to building an operating museum railroad using the first branch rail lines into Michigan -- the Palmyra and Jacksonburgh -- and preserving its historical railroad era (1838-1982). The railroad crosses the River Raisin twice as it winds its way through scenic countryside from Clinton to the Railroad's southernmost terminal at Raisin Center.
