Fall is a great time for hiking or biking on the Kal-Haven trail. The orchards, farm markets and farm stands are ripe with fresh fruits and vegetables in season and the wineries are harvesting and producing award-winning wines and juices. When snow begins to fall people flock to the local ski resorts and toboggan runs or head to the Kal-Haven trail for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing and the numerous lakes for ice fishing.

The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (KIA)
The museum's 10 galleries showcase outstanding temporary exhibitions and portions of the KIA's significant permanent collection. While the collection's emphasis is 20th-century American painting and sculpture, it also includes an extensive European and American print collection, as well as important collections of photography and contemprary ceramics. The collection includes works by local, national, and international artists, including the stunning glass chandelier by Dale Chihuly that hangs in the foyer.

The Kalamazoo Nature Center
The Kalamazoo Nature Center is recognized as one of the nation's best nature centers. Since 1960, we have been inspiring people to care about the environment by providing experiences that lead them to understand their connection to the natural world. We are located on 1,100 acres of rolling hills in Southwest Michigan with a variety of habitats, including rare mature beech-maple forests, wetlands and prairies. The Kalamazoo Nature Center offers trails for walking in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter, the have exhibits and features that are changing all the time, and provide a gift shop with items for kids of all ages. The Kalamazoo Valley Museum
There's always something happening for you at the Museum, whether you’re a preschooler, a big kid, or grown up. Come by yourself or in groups. Programs for kids and families are hands-on, sometimes featuring a special performer. Museum features a planetarium, the Stryker Theatre, and in addition to hands-on exhibits for visitors of all ages, the KVM features a full schedule of seasonal special exhibitions.
