Lake Gogebic

Lake Gogebic is the largest lake in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It offers 13,380 acres of prime fishing water and is surrounded by the almost one million acre Ottawa National Forest, which includes 21,000 acre Sylvania Recreation Area. It is less than a half-hours drive from the 50,000-acre Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. Truly, Lake Gogebic offers an outstanding vacation experience to all that enjoy nature’s out-of-doors, in any season of the year. Highlights of Lake Gogebic’s fishing include walleye, smallmouth bass northern pike, perch and whitefish. Winter is a "world of its own" with an annual snowfall of 200 inches. Lake Gogebic is situated within a vast snowmobile trail system extended throughout the Upper Peninsula. Cross-country ski trails are abundant and 5 major downhill facilities are within less than an hour’s drive. Also fine lodging and dining are in the immediate area.
