Property is located on Paradise Lake, formerly called Carp Lake. It is located 10 miles south of Mackinaw City off of U.S. 31. The cottages are situated on peaceful Carlton Cove on a quiet road that ends a few cottages down from ours.
MICHIGAN VACATION PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Our three bedroom Main Cottage is located in a beautiful lakefront setting on Paradise Lake, just 10 miles south of Mackinaw City. There are two other cottages which share the property, which make it ideal for family gatherings. The Main Cottage has plenty of living area with the kitchen overlooking the family room and sun room and then out to the lake. There are two other 2 bedroom cottages as well which can be rented on their own.
You will feel like you are "back in time" on Paradise Lake, yet restaurants and nightlife abound in nearby Mackinaw City. Paradise Lake is a quiet inland lake which offers fishing, swimming and watersports. A variety of fish are found on the lake including; Pike, Perch, Walleye and Bass. The shoreline has a hard-packed sand bottom with small rocks. It is a very gradual slope making it great for kids wading and swimming. There are two docks on the property to tie up a small boat and even catch a fish or two!
Along with the docks, the property has two fire pits for your use along with chairs to enjoy peaceful evening bonfires. Each cottage has it's own gas grill along with outdoor tables and chairs. There is a porch swing in the yard to watch the kids playing and the beautiful sunsets over Paradise Lake.
The Main Cottage has three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and the third bedroom has twin size bunk beds. There is a full bathroom with a tub/shower.
Cottage #1 has two bedrooms with a full size bed in each room. It has a full lake view. Cottage #2 also has two bedrooms with a full size bed in one and twin bunk beds in the other with partial lake view.
The kitchens are completely stocked with all of the cooking supplies you should need. There is also a coffeemaker, oven, rmicrowave, and toaster.
There is cable TV, a DVD player and Wireless Internet for your enjoyment at the cottages.
You will need to bring your own bedding and towels, as there is no washer/dryer. Blankets and pillows are provided for your use.
You might want to start with a supply of groceries. There is a small IGA grocery store in Mackinaw City. The closest Walmart is in Cheboygan about a half hour away.

Fishing, swimming and watersports on Paradise Lake. Boats can be rented from Paradise Lake Marina.
Mackinaw City, the "gateway" to Mackinack Island, is only 10 miles away. Mackinaw City offers casino's, shopping, restaurants and nightlife!
Historic Mackinack Island is an easy day trip from the cottage! Ferries leave regularly from Mackinaw City or across the bridge in St. Ignace.
Thunder Falls family water park in Mackinaw City provides a day of excitement for kids 5 to 95!
Canoeing and kayaking on the Sturgeon or Pigeon Rivers is 30 miles away. We highly recommend Big Bear Adventures in Indian River for your outfitters.
Sturgeon Bay, with it's majestic sand dunes and beaches on Lake Michigan, is a 15 minute drive away.
Golf at one of Northern Michigans premier golf courses. A beautiful course, the Hidden River Golf and Casting Club, is just minutes away.
The beautiful tourist towns of Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Charlevoix are within an hours drive of the cottage.

Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time at Paradise Lake at your cottage! I love it there and it was worth all the miles we drove. We returned to Virginia yesterday (drove back through Canada and Niagra Falls). The weather was a welcome relief from Virginia heat. Did Mackinac Island, Wilderness golf course, campfires, zip-line at Mill Creek Park (kids loved that), lots of fudge, and fishing. Rented a boat at marina which worked out real well. I caught two pike right off the dock…one was very large and gave me a good fight. It was great being back there with my kids and wife after having spent several summer vacations there over 30 years ago as a kid myself. My mom enjoyed it as well.

Our vacation and stay in the Main Cottage was wonderful! The Cottage was well-maintained, clean, and so convenient to all the fun stuff that the area has to offer. We could not have asked for better weather and spent the vast majority of our time lakeside, on the water, and enjoying the sunshine. Paradise Lake in general offered a great place for relaxation and family fun, as there were no noisy neighbors and enough seclusion to feel like you really were at home. Our kids, Bo (almost 3) and Ava (almost 1), absolutely loved it and the Cottage became affectionately known as the “swimmin’ house”.
Should we plan to vacation in Michigan again we will definitely be in touch.
