Taking either I-94 or I-69 into Port Huron (note follow signs -To Canada, otherwise you will find yourself in Downtown Port Huron). Follow I94/I69 to the end, light at Hancock road - go straight thru and you will merge onto Pine Groove Ave (M-25) north. Take Pine Groove (M-25) north for 3 lights and turn right onto Kraft road. Take kraft road until it ends and turn left onto Gratiot ave.

The next light will be the cross roads of Gratiot and Keewahdin road intersection, continue straight, 1/4 mile north on Gratiot from the Gratiot and Keewahdin road intersection is Desmond beach on the right (immediately after 25 mph speed sign, if you pass Keewahdin elementary school on left you have gone too far). After turning right on Desmond beach from Gratiot follow Desmond beach road around a left curve and house is on right, 4655 Desmond beach (American flag on post by road)

MICHIGAN VACATION PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

This beautiful house in Fort Gratiot (2 miles north of Port Huron) is a year round private home and over looks an awesome sandy beach, the perfect spot to watch freighter traffic on the Great Lakes. This house is in the middle of a beautiful small community of beach homes.

There are 5 bedrooms (two rooms with queen beds, one room with a full size bed and a twin, one room with a trundel bed (2 twins) and one room with a built-in twin.

Main level has great a room with gas fireplace, island kitchen plus dining room, year round sun room with bistro table, and one master bedroom (queen bed).

The upper level has the other 4 additional bedrooms. The deck has a beautiful view of Lake Huron, outdoor seating, and a gas grill. Views of the lake can be seen from all of the main floor rooms.
*This house has been and will need to continue to be a non-smokers home (sorry to my smoking friends)

The home has central air/heat. It has a full service kitchen with all the extras including microwave, disposal, dishwasher, coffee maker, a full complement of utensils, dishes, cookware, silverware and fire pit on the beach. All bed linens are provided. You should bring your own beach towels. There is a gas grill and patio furniture on the deck. Also available is a telescope for frieghter and star watching

The home is beautifully decorated. Leather sectional and recliner. 42" flat screen cable TV with blueray and wireless internet. Other extras include , a full size washer/dryer and mini freezer. Main floor bedroom also has flat screen TV.

Living room has a ventless natural gas fireplace with remote.In addition to your own private beach there's a lot to do in Port Huron. With its location on Lake Huron and near the St. Clair River, there are lots of to see. Many public beaches and friendly parks, also several nearby marinas are just a few of the outdoor attractions. The twin Blue Water bridgesbetween the United States and Canada are less than two miles away.

Besides beautiful outdoor scenery, Blue water area has a lot to offer when you're off the water. It's beautiful downtown shopping district, theFort Gratiot mall and many restaurants to choose from are with in 1 mile. Just over the Bridge in Canada is the Port Edward Casino andSarnia Horse track and the famous concert series Bay Fest in July. Enjoy many events in Port Huron and Lexington (15 minutes from Port Huron), including the famous Port Huron to Mackinac Yacht Race(this year July 18th 2010) Port Huron also boasts several world-class museums including the Huron Lightship, Port Huron Museum, and the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse.

The best of both worlds located only one hour north of Detroit or one hour east of Flint, Port Huron is a great destination to be close to the big city yet enjoy the small town serenity. Both I-94 and I-69 provide easy access to Port Huron.
