MICHIGAN VACATION PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Lovely 2 bedroom lakefront cottage boasting spectacular views at a reasonable price. Semi-secluded, fully furnished, a great space for families, fishermen, or for couples who would like to get away! Sleeps up to 6 and is 50' from the water's edge. Opposing shore is entirely occupied by YMCA Camp Echo, which means you will have a nice view of woodlands (instead of other cabins)! The property faces East, so each morning you will wake up to beautiful sunrises...
Long/Ryerson Lake is an all-sports lake which is approximately 2 miles long, 1 mile wide, and 80 ft deep at the deepest point. A rowboat is provided, so you are welcome to bring your own boat motor and fishing gear if you'd like. The lake has great fishing, with Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Bluegill, Perch, Speck, and Bullhead. The lake bottom out front has a gradual drop-off and is sandy-bottom which makes for great swimming, and drops off further at the end of our 32’ dock which makes for great fishing right there! There is a boat launch less than a mile south of the property for those interested in bringing their own boat.
This cottage is within 5 miles of the Manistee National Forest state land, 10 minutes to area towns and provisions, and a scenic 50 minute drive to Lake Michigan. Local activities include canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, and many others. Don't forget to pay a visit to Historic Downtown Newaygo or take a short drive to the world's largest earthen dam while you're here!
The cottage comes with all the things that have kept it comfortable for our own family, including big comfy couches, a full kitchen with dishes and utensils, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, a gas grill, TV, VCR, all linens, fireplace, picnic table, fire pit out front, dock, full-bathroom with shower, etc. Your family is assured to find it a relaxing, welcoming, and comfortable space to enjoy together.

Excellent place to take your family. Recently stayed there, 19JUN-26JUN. Very relaxing. Excellent fishing right off the dock, didn't need a boat. Caught several Northern Pike biggest one being 32", right off the end of the dock. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet vacation this is it. We will be back soon--possibly this year again.

We stayed at the cottage and did not want to leave, it is a sweet spot to relax, enjoy the lake, the deer across the way, the local fishermen and all of the traditions of lake life. Can't wait to be back next summer!

We just returned from a week at the cottage on Lake Ryerson. We enjoyed our week more than we could imagine. The lake was gorgeous, and the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely beautiful. The cottage owner has done a great job of providing everything necessary to make the stay nice. She gave many helpful suggestions of where to go, and what to do. We had a blast going river tubing at Wisners, and going to Silver Lake and going to Mac Woods' Dune Scooters. Our youngest son had fun fishing and felt like a real fishing pro when he pulled in a 29" pike from the cabin's rowboat! Thanks for a great week at a great price :)
