From M-37:  Take M-37 to 10 Mile Rd, turn west and go 7/10ths of a mile to N Merrillville Rd.   Turn north, go ½ mile to 10-1/2 Mile Rd, turn west, go 5 miles to Brooks Rd.  Turn south on Brooks Rd, go 1-1/2 miles, turn west on 9 Mile Rd for 2/10ths of a mile.  Turn south on N Johnson Rd for ¾ mile to the cabin (8308 N Johnson Rd) on the left/east side of the road.

From US31:  Take US31 to Freesoil Road, turn east and go 18 miles to N Johnson Rd.  Turn North on N Johnson Rd for ¼ mile to the cabin (8308 N Johnson Rd) on the right/east side of the road.

Your vacation starts here with a 1000 sq ft year round cabin in the heart if the Manistee National Forest.  Fly fish the Little Manistee River or troll the backwaters on the Big Manistee. Canoe /kayak the famous Pine River or just go swimming in the many surrounding lakes.  Hunt the thousands of acres of National Forest for deer, turkey, mushrooms and bear.  If motor sports are your bag, then the “Little O” ATV trail will give you miles of fun.

            Situated on 5 acres in an orchard like setting, makes Helsen’s Hideaway the perfect place for the horse rider.  Room to park the trailer, outside water hydrant and miles of 2 tracks your horse will love you for.

            For the winter enthusiast, it doesn’t get any better.  Hundreds of miles of snowmobiles trails, downhill or cross-country skiing close by.  Snowshoe out the back door or ice fish a different lake everyday.

            There is something for everyone at Helsen’s Hideaway.

Just stayed here for our annual hunting trip. So much better than the previous cabin we rented for several years. Close to plenty of hunting grounds and reasonably priced. WE HAVE ALREADY PUT IN OUR RESERVATION FOR NEXT YEAR.

I have rented this cabin and it is awesome. A real rustic feel, with modern day comfort. It is very close to the river,some awesome hunting and fishing ground,and allot of off-road trails. I would recommend this for everything from a weekend getaway, to a week long retreat during hunting season. A++ all the way!!!!
