Ours is an ideal spot for  one or two families or a group of friends to enjoy a vacation together!  This year-round home, built in 2005, has the feel of a New England cottage on Big Platt Lake, but offers public access to Lake Michigan beachs only 3 miles away. 

• 3 "official" bedrooms --king master suite with private bath, 2 twins overlooking the lake, double/twin bunk bed overlooking the woods.


• 3 "extra" bedrooms--double fold-out sleeper sofa upstairs, single fold-out sleeper sofa in study downstairs, windowless nursery room with crib, high chair, baby swing and baby monitor, upstairs.

• 2 1/2 baths (one in master suite, one upstairs, half-bath on main floor)


• Complete laundry room.

• Full kitchen, microwave, coffee maker, disposal, dishwasher.


• Dining area seats 8 easily-looks out over a large deck and lake.  Weber grill on deck.


• Dining available on the screened-in porch. 

• Boardwalk leads all the way to grassy lakefront.  A long shallow sandy lake bottom offers a perfect water playground for young children. 


• Boats include: 12-foot fishing boat (10 hp motor), canoe, paddleboat and kayak.



• Boats can be tethered to a sunning platform located about 30 yards from the shore, where the water is about 5 feet deep.



• Campfire pit is located on the beach. 

• Pets are allowed with prior approval. 

• Smoking is allowed only on the  screened-in porch or outside. 

Platt lake offers a long shallow entry into deeper water.    The lake has a sand and marle bottom leaving the water clear and warm.

You will find that Platte lake is quiet and lovely--especially viewed through the border of birch and white pine.  Jet skis and power boats are rare.  We hope you'll love this home as much as we do!

A great family vacation on Platte Lake includes lots of water fun, a trip to the drive-in movie in Honor and an afternoon in Empire at the dunes.  Art galleries and coffee shops are a short drive to Glen Arbor and Traverse City is only about 30 minutes away.

These rates apply every year before June 20th and after August 20th. Weekend rates for Memorial Day and Labor Day (3 nights)are $900.

Cleaning fee $120 unless different arrangements made.
