Lake Huron views and access plus the accoutrements of a year-round home await you in 1,500-s.f. Sandy Cottage. Ideal for a couple who seek a private, spacious retreat or for a family of four. Sleeps up to six. Lake views from all east side windows.

Low, sandy beach is 110 feet from your door. Go wading on the sandbar that stretches for the better part of a mile north and south. Enjoy the canoe or pedal boat. Work on your tan or sit under the tall cottonwoods. At night, roast marshmallows at the fire pit.

Upstairs suite has queen bed, attached bath with tub/shower combo and double sink, dressing room, reading alcove plus two Eames-style recliners for watching the lake or the flat-panel TV with premium cable and DVD player.

First-floor sleeping quarters offer a daybed plus trundle and another TV and DVD player. Livingroom has a queen sofa bed. Downstairs full bath has stall shower.

Accessible? Your call. It's three steps up into the house, and one step between livingroom and kitchen.

Sandy Cottage has central heat and air, a fireplace, outdoor grill, private garden, WiFi and a well-equipped kitchen.

The owners live next door, where they operate Adventure Inn Bed and Breakfast. They are committed to your comfort during your stay.

Between Father's Day and Labor Day, the rental week is from Monday noon through Sunday evening. Shorter stays are possible if available two weeks ahead. Other times of the year, the only policy is a two-night minimum. Please see the other house rules listed on the website.

From $350 for a weekend to $1,250 for the week, depending on the number of guests, length of stay and time of year. Peak season is July 1 through Labor Day. Lower rates available in May, June and September. Lowest rates from October through April. Two-night minimums apply.

Sandy Cottage is a wonderful place for us to get away from presenting our literacy workshops. We can't speak highly enough of the attention we get from Sandy and Nicholas and will keep on returning as often as we can. The position on the lake is just wonderful and we have yet to be there in some warm weather but love it whatever the weather. Mary Mcdonald

We have stayed three times at Sandy Cottage and just love being there. Apart from the cottage being a wonderful home away from home for us, Sandy and Nicholas are wonderful welcoming and gracious hosts.
