RIVER FRONT; SERENITY'S NEST is on the west branch of the Muskegon river. A Private, peaceful A-Frame near the woods & lots of wildlife, just 5 miles from Houghton Lake. 3 bedroom, 1 bath fully furnished and functional home-away-from-home. Enjoy the peacefullness of the country just minutes away from the city and all its activities, 2 canoes available for rent. Serenity's Nest was named for the beauty and serenity I felt when I first visited. On the front porch are at least 5 undisturbed birds nest that yearly have new arrivals and can be viewed from the couch in the front room. In spring feedings may be viewed. I have viewed beavers, deer, raccoons so many different birds, including the Blue Herring, chipmunks, squirrels, and of course the fish that jump from the river and occasionally a turtle is spotted. This cabin is a great place to bring your family for a great peaceful vacation, but yet close to the many activities that Houghton Lake area offers. Fishing from the rivers edge can be great fun for the whole family, the evening campfire can be a relaxing way to end your day, or enjoy a late nite snack, a hot dog (Koegles Vienna best in MI) or maybe a smore. Come and enjoy your home away from home at Serenitys Nest.
