Charlevoix Haven is a 5-bedroom, 2-1/2 bath home, thoughtfully remodeled to preserve the charm of Old Charlevoix while incorporating modern conveniences for your comfort. Located on a in a quiet neighborhood of elegant older homes adjacent to downtown, Charlevoix Haven is one short block to downtown events, parks, restaurants, shopping, movies, and city marina and Round Lake. It has been furnished by the owners with a cozy mix of antiques, cottage, rustic and wicker for an at-home, up-North feel. Free broadband internet access is provided. Charlevoix Haven features 9-foot ceilings and oak woodwork throughout the main floor with an updated country kitchen and a floor plan that offers real privacy for up to 10 guests in 5 private rooms while inviting family fun and relaxation in the rest of the house. Includes free washer and dryer. The master bedroom suite downstairs features a bird's-eye maple queen bed, waterfall mahogany and maple dressers, and private bath with tub/shower. The three upstairs bedrooms share a bath with a shower and double sinks. One upstairs bedroom, furnished in Habitant Knotty Pine, converts from king bed to two extra-long twins; the other two upstairs bedrooms have queen and full beds, and are funished in rustic cedar and antique oak respectively. No one in your party will get stuck with a stripped down "bed-frame-and-a-garage-sale-dresser" bedroom; all our bedrooms are fully furnished with matching dressers, nightstands, bedside lamps, clock radios, mirrors, cable TV and DVD. A bunk room downstairs includes bunk beds and a dresser with attached 1/2 bath. All sleeping rooms are completely private allowing full use of the rest of the house by late-nighters or early risers. Ferry Beach on Lake Charlevoix, a great family beach, is a pleasant walk or easy bike ride with no busy streets to cross. You may not need Charlevoix Haven?s central air conditioning, but if your vacation does hit one of Charlevoix?s occasional weeks of warm nights, the A/C and the pleasant walk to both Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix beaches will assure your family of having both sunny days and restful nights!
NEW FOR 2008: In addition to all the amenities we provided to our satisifed guests in 2007, for 2008 we have added free long distance telephone, free wireless broadband internet, a full-size crib AND a pack-n-play crib, and an available 30 foot boat slip, 5 minutes from the house, at Northwest Marine Yacht Basin (slip rental includes access to marina pool and amenities), with access to both Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan.

You can park your car for the week and still have easy access to all that Charlevoix has to offer. Downtown Charlevoix, with its fine dining, shops, galleries, yacht basin and marina and special events, is just steps away. Walk to John Cross Fish Market (1 block) and carry home fresh whitefish or salmon for the grill (don't forget the pate' and crackers!). Walk to the ferry dock for a day at historic Beaver Island. Walk to both Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix beaches; Ferry Beach on Lake Charlevoix is a pleasant walk or easy bike ride, with no busy streets to cross. Or take the paved Little Traverse Bike Trail along the shore of Lake Michigan to Bay Harbor and beyond. If you can tear yourself away from the charms of "Charlevoix the Beautiful," Charlevoix Haven is the ideal base for day trips ranging from the vineyards of Leelenau wine country to the charms of car-free Mackinac Island. Charlevoix is only minutes from world-class golfing and trout fishing. Locking storage is available for bicycles or golf clubs. On-site parking is available for your RV or boat trailer. You'll quickly find that there's too much to do for one week-- and, that Charlevoix Haven is absolutely the best location you will find to suit the whole range of activities that all the members of your family will want to enjoy.
