Bridge View Beach House is located on the south shore of Bois Blanc Island approximately one mile from the western most tip of the island.

MICHIGAN VACATION PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Enjoy a week's stay on Bois Blanc Island at Bridge View Beach House. With 200 feet of Lake Huron frontage, you will relax in peaceful solitude and marvel at breath-taking views of the Mackinac Bridge and the South Channel of the Straits of Mackinac. Our quiet island has many activites to offer: canoeing or kayaking ("big lake" or inland lakes), mountain biking (miles & miles of two-tracks), fishing (the inland lakes are said to have good bass & blue gill, the big lake has salmon), hiking, swimming, catching a tan, relaxing, watching freighters, sailboats & yachts drift by, bonfires on the beach at night, golfing on the main-land...the list goes on and on.

We have owned Bridge View Beach House since 2001. We stumbled upon it quite by accident while looking at the vacant property next door. We realized that by purchasing property with a structure already on it we could immediately start enjoying the island and recoup some of the cost of ownership by sharing our cottage with like minded folks. Michigan's motto is "Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice" which means "If you seek a pleasant penninsula, look about you." Our motto is "Si quaeris insula amoenam circumspice" which means "If you seek a pleasant island, look about you." :)

While on the island Kate and Claire love to play in the water in front of the cottage, go exploring in the woods, swim at the north beach at the end of Bible Rd. and eat pizza at Hawk's Landing or anything from Barb's tavern. Rob and Kirsten are content to tag along behind them to see what they'll discover next. When time permits, Rob enjoys stretching his legs on his mountain bike. Kirsten is happy to relax in an adirondack in front of the cottage and read a good book or just take in the serenity of the Straits of Mackinac. The screened in porch which runs the length of the house is a great place to enjoy a good hard island rain storm, or snuggle into a sleeping bag and enjoy the night breezes. The beach decks are a mere ten paces from the screened in porch.

Rob, Kirsten, Kate & Claire love to spend time on the island. It's our special retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We find it's a wonderful place to unwind and let go of the ties of life on the mainland.

While not on the island, we reside in Big Rapids where Kate will be starting 4th grade and Claire will be starting 1st grade next fall. After 20 years using his first Bachelor degree in automotive management from Ferris State, Rob is again a student at Ferris, this time pursuing a degree in Computer Information. Kirsten works at Ferris in the Humanities department office.
