Hubbard Lake is a pristine 9,000 acre lake about 3 1/2 hours north of Detroit and 25 minutes south of Alpena. The drive is I-75 North Exit US-23 to M-65 then on M-72 to Hubbard Lake Road.

TAKE A BREAK FROM CITY LIFE......WELCOME TO HUBBARD LAKE!.........

Year-round 1,300 sq.ft cottage with 2 bedrooms; 1 bedroom downstairs and a large loft upstairs. This lake view home is on the NW side of Hubbard Lake and across the street from the now-closed Sands Resort. Hubbard Lake is a pristine 9,000 acre lake on the sun-side (NE) of the state. The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and the loft upstairs has a set of twin beds and an air bed. There is a functioning wood-burning stove in the living room. This lake view home (approximately 60' away from Hubbard Lake) is located in a wooded area with a running stream and woodland flowers. Wildflowers, such as trillium can be found growing everywhere in the Spring. This home is beautifully furnished inside and out. The kitchen is fully functional with a refrigerator, stove and microwave, pots and pans, complete set of dishes and silverware. A washer and dryer are also available for use. There is a patio set with umbrella on the back deck for outside dining. A barbecue grill and smoker are also available. Just bring your boat, linens, towels and groceries for a wonderful family getaway vacation. Family memories are made here at Hubbard Lake. Please be advised that there is no smoking and no pets allowed. A canoe is available for use.  A dock is available at the lake shore with easy boat access with boat launch 3 blocks away. Hubbard Lake Marine has boat rentals available (14' fishing boat and pontoon boat 989-727-2286). Reservations are necessary. Locally, Hubbard Lake Tavern has the best walleye dinners and Mt. Mariah Bar & Grille (old ski resort) offers the best prime rib dinners on a Saturday night. You will also find Kathy's Family Kitchen for the best all-you-can-eat cod on a Friday night. In season, golf is offered locally at White Pines Golf Course (989-736-3279), Springport Golf Course (989-724-5611)and Alpena Country Club (989-354-4312). In the City of Alpena you can find Lake Huron charter fishing, beaches, local restaurants, shopping and a small town theatre.

My family really enjoyed the cottage. It was clean, comfortable and right across from the lake. There was plenty of room for a family of four, we will definately use again.
