Hubbard Lake is a pristine 9,000 acre lake about 3 1/2 hours north of Detroit and 25 minutes south of Alpena. The drive is I-75 North Exit US-23 to M-65 then on M-72 to Hubbard Lake Road.

COME AND VACATION AT BEAUTIFUL HUBBARD LAKE!.........

Year-round 1,350 sq.ft cottage: 1 bedroom downstairs and a large open loft upstairs. This lake view home is on the NW side of Hubbard Lake shoreline and across the street from the Sands Resort (currently closed). Hubbard Lake is a pristine 9,000 acre lake on the sun-side (NE) of the state. The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and the loft upstairs has a set of twin beds and an air matress bed. There is an operational wood-burning stove in the living room. This lake view home (approximately 60' away from Hubbard Lake) is located in a wooded area with a running stream.  It is alive with woodland flowers suc as trillium in the spring. This home is clean and beautifully furnished inside and out. The kitchen is fully functional with a refrigerator, stove and microwave, pots and pans, complete set of dishes and silverware. A washer and dryer is also available for your use. There is a patio set with umbrella on the side deck for outside dining. A barbecue grill and smoker are also available for your use. Just bring the charcoal and lighter fluid!  Please be advised that this is a SMOKE-FREE and PET-FREE home.  Bring your boat, linens, towels and groceries for a wonderful family getaway vacation. Family memories are made here at Hubbard Lake. A canoe is available for use and to be used at-your-own risk.  A dock is available at the lake shore with easy boat access with boat launch 3 blocks away. Hubbard Lake Marine has boat rentals available (14' fishing boat and pontoon boat 989-727-2286). Reservations are necessary. A pontoon is available for rent through Churchill Point Inn on the East shoreline of Hubbard Lake.  For reservations, contact them directly at 989-727-2020. There are also many dining establishments worth mentioning in the area. Locally, Hubbard Lake Tavern has the best walleye dinner; you can find fine dining at Churchill Pointe Inn. Churchill Pointe Inn also offers elegant dining on Friday and Saturday evenings.Sunday dinners are offered; please call for further details. The restaurant  overlooks the east shoreline of Hubbard Lake.  White Pine Golf course offers wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner dining opportunities in their expanded restaurant for outside dining patio.  In season, golf is offered locally at White Pines Golf Course (989-736-3279), Springport Golf Course (989-724-5611) and River's Edge Golf Club (989-354-4312). In the City of Alpena you can find Lake Huron charter fishing, beaches, local restaurants, shopping, a small town theatre, and the Maritime Museum featuring the history of shipwrecks in Thunder Bay. This experience is very worthwhile for the whole family!

For small theatre entertainment, you can go to a Thunder Bay Theatre performance in downtown Alpena. This season June - July, 2009, the Producers is playing while the Rat Pack will be performed in August.  It's a great evening out.  For a great evening, enjoy dinner before the performance at Lau's Steak House.  You can contact Thunder Bay Theatre at 989-354-2267.

Try the Art in the Loft (third floor on Second Street) for local artist crafts selling a reasonable prices.  A great afternoon of viewing local gems!

So much to do and yet this summer home is just 1 hour and 20 minute drive to the boat docks of Mackinac Island where you can spend the day.  It's all Michigan Summer Fun!

My family very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage! It is cute, clean, and has many nice amenities. We loved the neighborhood and being by the lake for an evening bonfire. We also had a great time at the nearby beach/playground! We would highly recommend this property and this renter!

We had six adults and one child stay at this home and it was more than roomy enough. Huge upstairs sleeping area, private bedroom on first floor, spacious bathroom and shower. Lots of kitchen cupboard space, clothes washer and dryer. Great front porch and side deck seating. Side deck with area for ground fire. Great home, would definitely stay again.

My family really enjoyed the cottage. It was clean, comfortable and right across from the lake. There was plenty of room for a family of four, we will definately use again.
